SHARKVOICE is an independent, volunteer‑driven nonprofit organization dedicated to the protection of sharks and marine ecosystems. For over 20 years, the team has been actively engaged in shark conservation, formerly known as Sharkproject Germany.
Sharks are essential to the balance of ocean ecosystems, yet more than 100 million sharks are killed every year due to overfishing, finning, bycatch, pollution, and habitat loss. SHARKVOICE addresses these challenges through science‑based education, public awareness, and strong national and international partnerships with marine biologists, NGOs, educators, and local stakeholders.
The organization focuses on respectful education instead of activism through confrontation. By fostering understanding, empathy, and trust, SHARKVOICE empowers people of all ages to recognize the importance of sharks and become advocates for their protection. Through educational programs, campaigns, research cooperation, and local as well as global initiatives, SHARKVOICE works toward a future with healthy shark populations and resilient oceans — because protecting sharks means protecting life in the sea.
